Vietnam to import more than 10 million cubic metres of fuel products
Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has sent a document to major petrol distributors on the allocation of minimum fuel import quotas in 2012.
Accordingly, these distributors are allowed to import a total of 10.1 million cubic metres of fuel products in this year, includes 3.48 million cubic metres of gasoline; 5.52 million cubic metres of diesel; 1 million tonnes of mazut; 12,000 cubic metres of kerosene and 300,000 cubic metres of jet air fuel.
Distributors include Petrolimex will be allocated to import with the biggest quota of 5.84 million cubic metres of fuel. The second is PV Oil with 1.26 million cubic metres of fuel and Petrolimex aviation fuel joint stock company with 503,000 cubic metres of fuel.
MoIT requires distributors to not be allowed to import fuel products with a volume below the minimum quotas as allocated for the full year. They also must ensure the import schedule (three months, six months ...) and have to comply with technical standards and regulations on fuel quality control.
Speaking to reporters on January 13th, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue – Minister of Ministry of Finance said the most important key on financial operation of Ministry in 2012 is strict management of import – exports products, expecially petroleum products.
