On November 21st, 2011, Mr Chris Einchcomb - vice president of Petroleum TNK group - BP (Russia) said that a subsidiary of TNK as TNK Vietnam will expand its investment in oil and gas sector in Vietnam.
Affter receiving amended investment license of block 06.1 in October, TNK Vietnam has taken over the control of Lan Tay gas drilling rig, and it is currently seeking other opportunities include purchasing a new block or shares of operating blocks. According to Chris, in the coming time, TNK Vietnam will take part in the bidding for offshore blocks, which is under PetroVietnam bid opening.
To December, TNK Vietnam is expected to start drilling of two deep offshore wells within the framework of Lan Do field development project, and TNK Vietnam will take the first gas line to land in Q4 this year.
