Since April 4th, retail price of cooking gas in domestic market will reduce by VND6,000 a kg, equivalent to VND70,000 a cylinder of 12kg compare to the early last month.
Mr Do Trung Thanh, Deputy Sales Manager of gas from Saigon Petro said that, retail price of SP 12kg cooking gas in Ho Chi Minh city will reduce to VND405,000 after price (April contract) in the world market downed by USD212.5 a tonne over March to USD992.5 a tonne.
Other distributors also dropped price the same. In Ho Chi Minh city, the average prices of cooking gas stay around VND400,000-4150,000 a cylinder of 12kg, depend on brands and regions.
Early March, SP has increased retail price by VND62,000 a cylinder of 12kg to VND477,000 a cylinder of 12kg after soaring price in the world market. But three days later, distributor has lowered price by VND16,000 a cylinder as import tax rate adjusted to 0% from 5%.
In 10th March, retail price continued falling by VND10,000 to VND451,000 a cylinder of 12kg to support customers and this price retained to late March .
