In the first half of March, the price of fuel products from Singapore, a major supplier of Vietnam, continued to rise by 2.94-6.39%.
Petrolimex said that in the first half month of March, the fuel price in the world market still kept at high levels. The average price of WTI was at USD106.42 a barrel, up by 5.04% year on year, while the average price of Brent crude oil was at USD124,45 a barrel, up by USD12.5 a barrel (10.82%) compared to the same tim last year.
The average price of Ron 92 from Singapore in the first half of March inched up to USD133.98 a barrel, increase of 6.39% over last year, DO, FO, Kerosene also jumped 2.91% and 4.3% respectively.
Petrolimexquoted sources from some traders, fuel market in asia region may increase at least a month futher because import volumes of fuel products in coming April are less than 3.2-3.6 million tonnes. In addition, the supplies for market will plunge due to refineries in region are in maintenance this time.
Previously, the surge of the fuel price in the world market, dragged price in domestic market also to mount. Since 7th March, aftenoon, retail price of A92 gasoline increased an additional VND2,100 to VND22,900 a liter. Other products such as kerosene, diesel and mazut also increased by VND600-2,000.
According to Petrolimex, retail price of Ron 92 gasoline in Vietnam market currently is VND3,280 -12,000 a liter less than retail price from China, Laos, Cambodia and Singapore.
