At current retail prices, petroleum companies are still lossing to all products of gas and oil.
Mr. Vuong Thai Dung, General Director of Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) told urgently to VTC News that news about petrol prices may decline due to enterpries are making profit for A92 and A95 is not true.
Accordingly, Mr Dung insisted, no matter the base prices of petroleum products are lower than retail prices in the domestic market.
"The base price of petroleum products in Petrolimex currently are higher retail prices. Beside that news about raising discount to dealers is not true too. We still keep the discount at the old level for them, "he added.
Said to VTC News when asked about the import price of petrol is decreasing and whether or not retail price will lower to costomers, representative of Price Administration Department (belong to Ministry of Finance), answers that no matter the import petrol prices decline so that businesses to consider reducing their retail prices.
"retail prices still base on the average price of 30 days. And for discount raising to dealers is not belong to the control of Department”, the representative said.
Previously, the base price of petroleum products was public on website of Petrolimex but now it no longer updates.
Answering VTC News not long ago, representative of Petrolimex said because it’s website is in the process of upgrading.
According to information on Petrolimex’s website, the import prices of petrol from Singapore on November 16th, 2011 include: RON A92: USD 110,85 a barrel; DO 0,05S: USD 132,91 a barrel; DO 0,25S: USD 132,60 a barrel and Kero: USD 709,06 a barrel.
