Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued a Decision No 1665/QĐ-BCT on approving the plan of fuel store system along Highway 1A to 2020 and vision to 2025.

Accordingly Decision, tier-one gas stations have to have minimum area of 5600m2, 6 fuel pumps, motels, parking lots and other commercial services. While tier–two gas stations also have 4 fuel pumps, other commercial services and minimum area of 3.000m2, and tier-three gas stations have minimum area of 900m2, 3 fuel pumps. The distance between tier-one gas stations is 40km, 20km for tier–two gas stations, and 2 km for tier-three gas stations in city and 12km outside the city.

From now to 2015, ministry will elimilate or relocate about 68 gas stations, build 79 new gas stations, renovate and upgrade 111 gas stations.
