At conference held in April 11th, members of National Assembly Standing Committee have not agreed whether to take gasoline, oil and electricity into the list of iterms set prices by the government or not.
Price bill verification agency-Budget Committee of Congress requested to eliminate iterms such as steel, iron, cement from iterm list of price stabilization, while electricity, gasoline and oil products still are in.
However, sources concern about electricity, gasoline and oil products still keep in iterm list of price stabilization shall against the economic law as well as WTO commitments.
Mr Nguyen Sinh Hung – Chairman of National Assembly, said that: Government can not set prices of gasoline, oil and electricity, because they have been following market mechanism, so government only help to stabilize their prices?
Mr Phung Quoc Hung, the head of Budget Committee of National Assembly answered that, the reason these iterms have not yet put into list of iterms set price by government because they are high monopoly.
