Giá dầu thô vẫn ở mức thấp trong 11 tuần

Trong phiên giao dịch Châu Á sáng nay tại New York, giá dầu thô vẫn duy trì ổn định ở mức thấp trong 11 tuần sau khi các chuyên gia phân tích dá»± báo nguồn cung xăng của Mỹ Ä‘ã tăng qua tuần thứ 07, cho thấy dấu hiệu nhu cầu nhiên liệu phục hồi khá chậm ở nÆ°á»›c tiêu thụ dầu thô nhiều nhất thế giá»›i này.

Hôm qua, các hợp đồng tÆ°Æ¡ng lai giảm 0,6% sau khi các chuyên gia phân tích trong cuá»™c khảo sát Bloomberg dá»± Ä‘oán má»™t báo cáo hôm nay từ Bá»™ năng lượng khả năng cho thấy nguồn cung xăng trong tuần kết thúc vào ngày 11/02 tăng 1,85 triệu thùng, giai Ä‘oạn tăng lâu nhất kể từ tháng 08. Viện Dầu Khí Mỹ hôm qua cho biết trữ lượng dầu tồn tăng 1,24 triệu thùng lên mức 240,9 triệu thùng.

“Lượng xăng tồn hiện rất rất lá»›n trong khi nhu cầu còn khá yếu,” dẫn lời ông Kyle Cooper, giám đốc nghiên cứu của IAF Advisors ở Houston.

Giá dầu thô giao kỳ hạn tháng 03 tại sàn giao dịch New York lúc 08h12 sáng (giờ Việt Nam) tăng 12 cent, lên mức 84,44 USD/thùng. Cuối phiên Mỹ tối qua, giá dầu giảm 49 cent xuống còn 84,32 USD/thùng, mức thấp nhất kể từ ngày 30/11.

Tại sàn giao dịch London, giá dầu thô Brent giao kỳ hạn tháng 04 hôm qua giảm 1,44 USD/thùng, tức 1,4%, xuống còn 101,64 USD/thùng.

Khả năng dầu thô tồn của Mỹ trong tuần kết thúc vào ngày 11/02 sẽ tăng qua tuần thứ 05 do TransCanada Corp Ä‘ã hoàn tất dá»± án mở rá»™ng đường ống dẫn dầu tá»›i Cushing càng làm tăng thêm lượng dầu tồn ở nÆ°á»›c này. TransCanada bắt đầu vận chuyển dầu tá»›i Cushing hôm 08/02 trong giai Ä‘oạn thứ 02 của dá»± án đường ống Keystone.

Bloomberg cho biết, má»™t báo cáo từ Bá»™ Năng Lượng có thể cho thấy nguồn cung dầu thô tuần trÆ°á»›c tăng 02 triệu thùng từ mức 345,1 triệu thùng. Trữ lượng dầu tồn ở Cushing, Oklahoma trong tuần kết thúc vào ngày 28/01 tăng lên mức cao nhất kể từ năm 2004.

Hôm qua, các số liệu từ Bá»™ ThÆ°Æ¡ng mại Mỹ cho thấy doanh số bán lẻ trong tháng 01 tăng 0,3%, mức tăng nhỏ nhất kể từ lần giảm trong tháng 06. Trong khi Ä‘ó các chuyên giao kinh tế trong cuá»™c khảo sát Bloomberg dá»± báo tăng khoảng 0,5%.

Oil Trades Near 11-Week Low on Forecast of Gasoline Supply Gain

Oil traded near an 11-week low in New York after analysts forecast that gasoline supplies rose for a seventh week in the U.S., signaling a slow recovery in fuel demand in the world’s biggest crude-consuming nation.

Futures slipped 0.6 percent yesterday after analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News estimated an Energy Department report today will show gasoline stockpiles climbed 1.85 million barrels in the seven days ended Feb. 11, matching the longest streak of gains since August. The industry-funded American Petroleum Institute said yesterday that inventories increased 1.24 million barrels to 240.9 million.

“Gasoline inventories here are very, very robust, and demand here is still very poor,” said Kyle Cooper, director of research for IAF Advisors in Houston. Brent and West Texas Intermediate are “divorced” because of near-record oil stockpiles at Cushing, the delivery point for the New York contract, he said.

Crude for March delivery was at $84.44 a barrel, up 12 cents, in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 10:12 a.m. Sydney time. The contract slid 49 cents to $84.32 yesterday, the lowest since Nov. 30. Prices are 10 percent higher than a year ago.

The gain in New York futures lagged behind London’s Brent crude, widening the spread between the contracts. The spread between the April contracts was at $13.91 a barrel today, from $14.35 on Feb. 14. The March West Texas Intermediate contract in New York expires on Feb. 22.

Crude Supplies

Brent crude for April settlement dropped $1.44, or 1.4 percent, to $101.64 a barrel on the ICE Futures Europe exchange in London yesterday.

U.S. crude inventories probably rose for a fifth week in the seven days ended Feb. 11 as TransCanada Corp. completed an extension of a pipeline to Cushing, adding to the glut at the country’s biggest oil-trading hub, a Bloomberg News survey showed. TransCanada started deliveries to Cushing on Feb. 8 in the second phase of its Keystone pipeline project.

The Energy Department report may show crude supplies increased 2 million barrels last week from 345.1 million barrels, according to the median estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News. Stockpiles at Cushing, Oklahoma, rose to the highest level since at least 2004 in the week ended Jan. 28.

U.S. retail sales increased 0.3 percent in January, the smallest gain since a drop in June, Commerce Department figures showed yesterday. The median forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News was for a gain of 0.5 percent.
