Giá dầu thô tiến sát mốc 90 USD/thùng do ống dẫn Alaskan tạm ngÆ°ng hoạt Ä‘á»™ng vì rò rỉ

Trong phiên giao dịch đầu tuần Châu Á sáng nay tại New York, giá dầu thô đảo chiều tăng trở lại sau 02 ngày trở về quanh ngưỡng 89 USD/thùng do đường ống dẫn Alaskan phải tạm ngÆ°ng hoạt Ä‘á»™ng vì bị rò rỉ và thêm vào Ä‘ó là má»™t báo cáo cho thấy tá»· lệ thất nghiệp tại Mỹ Ä‘ã giảm xuống.

Các hợp đồng tÆ°Æ¡ng lai tăng 2,1% sau khi hệ thống dẫn dầu Trans- Alaska, đường ống vận chuyển 15% lượng dầu thô của Mỹ, Ä‘ã tạm Ä‘óng cá»­a hôm 08/01. Bên canh Ä‘ó, Bá»™ Lao Động cÅ©ng cho biết tá»· lệ thất nghiệp tuần trÆ°á»›c giảm xuống còn 9,4%, mức thấp nhất kể từ tháng 05/2009.

“Chắc chắn sá»± hạn chế nguồn cung sẽ tác Ä‘á»™ng làm giá dầu tăng lên. Tuy nhiên, má»™t yếu tố khác cÅ©ng góp phần vào việc đẩy giá dầu hÆ°á»›ng lên Ä‘ó là các dữ liệu trong bảng lÆ°Æ¡ng phi nông nghiệp,” dẫn lời ông Ben Westmore, chuyên gia kinh tế năng lượng và khoáng sản của Ngân hàng National Australia Bank Ltd ở Melbourne cho biết.

Giá dầu thô WTI giao  kỳ hạn tháng 02 tại sàn giao dịch New York tăng, 1,95 USD/thùng lên mức 89,98 USD/thùng. Lúc 08h51 sáng (giờ Việt Nam) giá dầu ở mức 89,51 USD/thùng. Cuối phiên giao dịch hôm 07/01, giá  dầu giảm 35 cent, tức 0,4%, xuống còn 88,03 USD/thùng.

Việc Ä‘óng cá»­a đường ống Alaskan, hệ thống dẫn dầu dài 800 dặm vận chuyển tá»›i cá»±c bắc nÆ°á»›c Mỹ, buá»™c các công ty bao gồm BP Plc phải tạm ngÆ°ng 95% sản xuất ở khu vá»±c North Slope. Hệ thống này vận chuyển dầu từ Vịnh Prudhoe ở North Slope tá»›i Valdez, má»™t cảng cá»±c bắc không bao giờ Ä‘óng băng thuá»™c phía bắc nÆ°á»›c Mỹ.

“Chúng tôi cho rằng đường ống này tạm ngÆ°ng hoạt Ä‘á»™ng chỉ trong má»™t thời gian ngắn mà thôi và rồi sản xuất sẽ sá»›m trở lại nhÆ° bình thường. Do Ä‘ó, giá dầu có thể sẽ theo chiều hÆ°á»›ng trở về ngưỡng 88 USD/thùng.” má»™t chuyên gia phân tích ở Fat Prophets nói vá»›i Bloomberg.

Hôm 07/01, Bá»™ Lao Động cho biết các bảng lÆ°Æ¡ng phi nông nghiệp tăng 103.000  so vá»›i mức dá»± báo 150.000 của các chuyên gia phân tích trong khảo sát Bloomberg. Số người có việc làm trong tháng 11 tăng 71.000, nhiều hÆ¡n so vá»›i dá»± Ä‘oán trÆ°á»›c Ä‘ó.

Tại sàn giao dịch London, giá dầu thô Brent giao kỳ hạn tháng 02 tăng 92 cent, tức 01%, lên mức 94,25 USD/thùng. Đóng cá»­a phiên hôm 07/01, giá dầu tăng 1,19 USD/thùng, tức 1,3%, lên mức 93,33 USD/thùng.

Oil Rises After Alaskan Pipeline Shutdown Halts 95% of North Slope Output

Oil climbed for the first time in three days after an Alaskan crude pipeline was shut following a leak and a government report showed a decline in the jobless rate in the U.S., the world’s biggest oil user.

Futures gained as much as 2.2 percent after the Trans- Alaska Pipeline System that carries about 15 percent of U.S. crude output was closed Jan. 8. The Labor Department said last week the jobless rate fell to 9.4 percent, the lowest level since May 2009.

“People are little more concerned with supply constraints than they were six months ago,” Ben Westmore, a minerals and energy economist at National Australia Bank Ltd. in Melbourne, said by telephone. “There’s no doubt the shutdown is being factored into prices. Part of the price rise is off the back of the non-farm payrolls data.”

The February contract climbed as much as $1.95 to $89.98 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange and was at $89.37 a barrel, up $1.34, at 11:46 a.m. Sydney time. Oil declined 35 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $88.03 on Jan. 7. Prices rose 15 percent last year.

The shutdown to the pipeline, an 800-mile network crossing the northernmost U.S. state, forced companies including BP Plc to suspend 95 percent of production from the North Slope area. The system starts in Prudhoe Bay on the North Slope and runs to Valdez, the northernmost ice-free port in North America.

Pipeline Repair

“We do think that the pipeline won’t be closed for any significant length of time and production will very quickly return to normal,” David Lennox, a resource analyst at Fat Prophets, said in a Bloomberg Television interview. “With that we’ll see the price of crude oil probably drop back down towards the $88 level, where it had been trading.”

The Labor Department said Jan. 7 that payrolls increased 103,000, compared with the median forecast of 150,000 in a Bloomberg News survey. November employment rose a revised 71,000, more than previously estimated.

Brent crude oil for February settlement rose 92 cents, or 1 percent, to $94.25 a barrel on the London-based ICE Futures Europe exchange. The contract decreased $1.19, or 1.3 percent, to $93.33 on Jan. 7.
