Dantri.com quoted words of official from major distributor that gasoline price may be lifted another VND700 a liter in this night, dragging A92 gasoline retail price up to VND23,700 a liter, while diezel increase further VND500 a liter.
Previously, Ministry of Finance has received the proposal from major distributors for price increases of VND1,100-1,200 a liter and VND700-800 a liter for gasoline and other petroleum products.
The proposal for price increase of fuel is given in the situation of soaring world oil prices, expecially Singapore – the largest fuel import market of Vietnam.
In detail, A92 gasoline imported from Singapore in August 22nd closed at USD125.35 a barrel; Kerosene traded at USD131.97 a barrel; DO was at USD133.47 a barrel and FO dealed at USD684 a tonne.
The 30 days average price of gasoline recently has risen by USD121 a barrel from USD115 a barrel prviously, while the 30 days average price of kerosene up to USD127 a barrel from UD123 a barrel.
As estimated by distributors, current retail prices are at VND1,100 a liter and VND700 a liter lower than base prices for gasoline and kerosene.
Within more than 20 days (since early this month) gasoline price has three times increases with total VND3,000 a liter.
