In Singapore, a main fuel import market of Vietnam, A92 gasoline price dropped to USD105.62 a barrel in the latest transaction on June 15th.
Prior to that, A9 gasoline has fallen to USD102-102 a barrel, downed by USD16-17 a barrel from previous month.
Based on import data from June 7th to time that retail price of gasoline declined to VND21,900 a liter from VND22,700 a liter and import tax rate up to 7%, the base price is less than about VND1.670 a liter compare to the retail price. Distributors are enjoying the price difference.
Based on the average import price for 30 days, major distributors also make profit of VND700 a liter, so retail price of fuel can decrease futher while still ensure the harmonic interest for both distributors and consumers.
