According to data released by Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT), fuel imports, expecially diesel, reduced in Quarter 1.
Petroleum imports reached more than 1.65 million cubic meter/tonne, recuded by 42% over the same time last year, and accounted for 16% of minimum quota in this year.
In detail, diesel and FO imports in the first three months this year decreased by 50% compared to the first three months last year, gasoline imports decline by 26% to 650,000 cubic meter and aviation fuel imports dropped by 23%.
While gasoline imports for re-exporting in the first quarter reached 860,000 cubic meter/tonne, fell by 1.6% over first quarter of last year.
As estimated by an agency from MIT, to April, total fuel imports of Vietnam may be at 2.3 million cubic meter/tonne, reduce by 40% over the same time in 2011.
