Cooking gas prices in Vietnam rose another VND5,000 per 12-kg cylinder from December 1st, said retail distributors.
Therefore, retail cooking gas prices of SaiGon Petro, Gia Dinh Gas, CD Petro will not sell more than VND350,000-352,000 a cylinder in this month. The reason for hiking price is due to world cooking gas price delivering December increases to USD795 a tonne, up by USD15 a tonne compared to last month, following suit higher prices of crude oil, as well as higher demand for cooking gas in winter season.
According to cooking gas distributors, in November, they did not lift retail price due to world price increased slightly, about USD5 a tonne. In December, world gas price increased USD15 a tonne, plus USD5 a tonne increased in November is USD20 a tonne, so distributors decide to raise retail prices for domestic market an additional VND5,000-6,000 per 12kg cylinder.
