Mr Do Trung Thanh, deputy manager of gas sales Department of Saigon Petro said that since March 10^th, retail price of cooking gas will be lowed by VND833 a kg, equivalent to VND10,000 of 12kg cylinder to VND451,000 a cylinder of 12kg in Ho Chi Minh city.

Previous day, March 9^th, some distributors such as MT gas and Pacific Petro also reduced their retail price by VND10,000 to VND449,000 a cylinder of 12kg and VND450,000 a 12kg cylinder respectively.

Distributors told that they eased their retail price in order to stimulate demand after plumed 15-25% recently.

In addtion, distributors dropped their price behind world price reduction of USD60 a tonne, as well as the anticipation about price will slump in April because weather in EU is warmer.

Since March 3^rd (import tax rate of gas decreased to 0% from 5%), distributors have trimmed retail price twice, total VND20,000 a 12kg cylinder.
